School completion is low here, with only 27.6% of First Nations people finishing Year 12. This is far below the Victorian figure of 42.4%.

The unemployment rate for First Nations people is 10.6%. This is a little above the state figure but a little below the national average of 12.3%.

Income

Personal and household incomes.

Typical weekly household income is $1,277, which is lower than most areas and a little below the Victorian average. Typical personal income is $518, which is about the same as the national figure.

Language & culture

Use of an Australian Indigenous language at home.

Only 3.6% of First Nations people speak a First Nations language. This is lower than most areas and well below the national figure of 12.3%.
