The languages spoken in homes across the area, beyond English.
Daily life in Cardinia is becoming more multilingual as the variety of languages spoken at home grows. While 77.1% of residents speak only English, the number of people using another language at home rose 11 percentage points since 2011 to reach 17.8%. This shift makes the area much more linguistically diverse than most similar regions.

Punjabi is the most common non-English language at 2.9%, followed by Hindi and Mandarin. While the 17.8% of people using another language is well below the national figure of 22.3%, the 2.1% who speak little or no English is much higher than in most similar areas.
