Nearly one in five people in Eden-Monaro volunteer, a rate well above the national figure. This high level of community involvement is a standout feature for the region. Residents also show a strong history of military service compared to other parts of the country.

Unpaid work is common, with 23.3% of people doing 15 or more hours of housework weekly, a figure much higher than most areas. Around 12.6% provide other unpaid care, while 26.1% care for children unpaid, which is about the same as the national figure.
