Renmark Morgan
Renmark and Morgan (L) are two South Australian towns with very different social makeups. Renmark is a larger centre with a more diverse population; 23.1% of residents arrived from overseas recently, and 16.7% use a language other than English at home. In contrast, Morgan (L) is much smaller and less diverse, with no recent overseas arrivals and only 1.5% using another language. The two areas also differ in their housing and age profiles, as Morgan (L) has a far older typical resident (54 compared to 44 in Renmark) and a higher share of homes owned outright (44.8% versus 33.3%).
Since 2011, the two areas have tracked in opposite directions across several measures, with the lead flipping for typical age, home ownership and rental rates.
