Maranunga vs Nauiyu

Nauiyu and Maranunga are neighbouring areas in the Northern Territory. Nauiyu is the more populated of the two, with 350 residents and 319 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It also has more infrastructure, including two schools and a higher number of street intersections per square kilometre compared to Maranunga. Maranunga is largely non-residential and has a smaller population of zero, with the terrain being steeper than in Nauiyu.

Both areas are completely car-dependent, with no homes within a 15-minute walk of parks, schools, groceries, or health services. They are also similar in their school advantage scores. This shared lack of walkable amenities remains constant, while the gap in population and indigenous residency between the two areas has stayed wide.
