Cocata vs Mount Wedge

Mount Wedge and Cocata are both sparsely populated areas in South Australia. Mount Wedge is very small, with only 17 residents, while Cocata is effectively non-residential with a population of zero. The two areas differ slightly in their landscape, as the terrain slope is a little higher in Mount Wedge at 5.4% compared to 3.8% in Cocata. Mount Wedge also has a small number of homes, 2.5%, within a 15-minute walk of a park.

Both areas are completely car-dependent and have no access to groceries, health services, or schools within a short walk. Their lack of public transport and basic amenities is consistent across the region, with both areas sitting near the national figure for a lack of these services. This shared isolation remains constant across both locations.
