Lake Burrendong vs Yarragal

Yarragal and Lake Burrendong are both sparsely populated areas in New South Wales. Yarragal has a small population of 14 people, including six Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents, while Lake Burrendong has no residents. The terrain differs significantly, as Yarragal has a much steeper mean slope of 11.6% compared to just 1.1% in Lake Burrendong.

Both areas are entirely car-dependent, with no homes located within a 15-minute walk of parks, schools, groceries or health services. They also share a lack of public transport stops and routes. This complete absence of local amenities is a common feature for both neighbouring areas.
