Umbakumba and Outstations vs Yilpara

Umbakumba and Outstations and Yilpara are both First Nations communities in the Northern Territory, though they differ significantly in size and economic standing. Yilpara has a much higher typical First Nations household income of $1,125 compared to $404 in Umbakumba and Outstations. Education and employment also show a wide gap; 60.7% of First Nations people in Yilpara finished Year 12, while only 12.1% did so in Umbakumba and Outstations, where the unemployment rate is also far higher at 32.5%.

Both areas share a very strong connection to culture, with over 96% of residents in each place speaking a First Nations language.
