Emu Point vs Thamarrurr exc. Wadeye

Emu Point and Thamarrurr exc. Wadeye are two remote areas in the Northern Territory with very different profiles. Emu Point has a far higher typical First Nations household income at $2,250, compared to $860 in Thamarrurr exc. Wadeye. Conversely, Thamarrurr exc. Wadeye has a far higher First Nations unemployment rate of 56.6%, while Emu Point's is 28.6%. Thamarrurr exc. Wadeye also has a far higher share of people who speak a First Nations language at 98.9%, compared to 73.7% in Emu Point.

Both areas have a similar number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and the typical age of First Nations residents in Emu Point is 24, which is about the same as the national figure.
