Malak vs Wagaman

Malak and Wagaman are neighbouring areas in Darwin with very different levels of accessibility. Wagaman is a walker's paradise where every home is within a 15-minute walk of groceries and health services, while in Malak, only about 47% to 48% of homes have that same access. Wagaman also has far higher First Nations household incomes at $1,916, compared to $1,190 in Malak.

Both areas sit close to the national figure for the typical age of First Nations residents, who are just a little younger in Malak at 23 and noticeably younger in Wagaman at 20.
