Kulin vs Katanning

Kulin and Katanning are two regional Western Australian areas with very different levels of local access. Katanning is much more walkable, with 71.3% of homes within a 15-minute walk of a park and 70.0% near a school, compared to 48.4% and 45.2% in Kulin. Access to health services is also far higher in Katanning, where 54.1% of homes are within a 15-minute walk, while only 19.7% of homes in Kulin have the same access.

Both areas share a similar landscape, with very similar mean terrain slopes. While Katanning has a far larger First Nations population, Kulin has a well higher rate of First Nations Year 12 completion at 27.6% and a well higher share of people who speak a First Nations language at 7.6%.
