Caboolture vs Maroochy

Caboolture and Maroochy are two large Queensland areas with notable differences in their services and First Nations communities. Maroochy is far more accessible for many, with 48.7% of homes within a 15-minute walk of health services compared to 29.2% in Caboolture. Maroochy also has a far higher share of First Nations people finishing Year 12, at 50.6% compared to Caboolture's 39.4%. In contrast, Caboolture has a far larger First Nations population, with 9,912 people compared to 4,834 in Maroochy, and a well higher First Nations unemployment rate of 13.2%.

Both areas are very similar when it comes to basic amenities, with around 85% of homes in each area within a 15-minute walk of a park. They also share a similar proportion of people who speak a First Nations language, sitting between 3.6% and 4.2%. While both are described as somewhat walkable, Maroochy is a little higher in this regard. This higher walkability in Maroochy is consistent with the fact that more of its homes are within a 15-minute walk of public transport and health services.
