A sharp rise in overseas arrivals has transformed Donald since 2011. While far fewer people are moving into the town from elsewhere in Australia, the proportion of recent arrivals from abroad has jumped to 22.3%. This shift marks a significant change in who is choosing to settle in the area.

Recent arrivals from overseas now make up 22.3% of the population, a figure well above the 15.6% seen across Victoria. This represents a big increase from 2011, when only 5.8% of the town were recent overseas arrivals.
