An increasing number of overseas-born residents have moved to 5,000 to 9,999, with the proportion rising by over 5 percentage points since 2011. While the area remains far less diverse than the national average, nearly 15.4% of people were born outside Australia.

The ancestries people most identify with.
English is the most common ancestry at 46.3%, followed by Australian at 39.3%. Other significant groups include German (12.5%), Scottish (10.5%), and Irish (8.2%) ancestry.

Australia and the largest overseas communities.
About 15.4% of people were born overseas, a figure that rose from 10.3% in 2011. This is far below the Australian figure of 27.7%, with the majority of residents born in Australia (79.5%) or England (6.6%).
