Far fewer people were born overseas in the Remainder of State/Territory than in most other similar areas. This vast region is dominated by those with English and Australian roots, with 11.5% of residents born outside Australia.

English and Australian ancestries are the most common, making up 40.4% and 39.3% of the population. Irish (11.1%), Scottish (10.8%), and German (7.9%) ancestries also feature strongly.

Only 11.5% of people here were born overseas, a figure far below the national average of 27.7%. This proportion has barely changed since 2011, and most residents were born in Australia (79.1%), followed by England (3.2%) and New Zealand (2.3%).
