A very strong tie to traditional roots defines the Remainder of State/Territory, where about 81% of people were born in Australia. Most residents trace their heritage back to English and Australian origins, reflecting a stable population with very little change in its overseas birthplace makeup over the last decade.

English and Australian ancestries are the most common, each accounting for about 40% of residents, followed by Irish at 12.5% and Scottish at 11.8%.
