Overseas births have barely changed in 500 or more since 2011, with 11.1% of people born abroad. This area is far more likely to be born in Australia than the national average, with English and Australian being the most common ancestries.

The ancestries people most identify with.
English ancestry is the most common at 42.9%, followed closely by Australian at 40.6%. Irish and Scottish roots are also prominent, making up 13.2% and 12.2% of the population.
Country of birth
Australia and the largest overseas communities.
Only 11.1% of residents were born overseas, which is much lower than most similar areas and far below the national figure of 27.7%. While the vast majority were born in Australia (81.6%), the most common overseas birthplaces are England, New Zealand, the Philippines and India.
