A growing number of people born overseas now call Brisbane Inner City home, with that figure rising by 3.6 percentage points since 2011. Around 30.2% of the population was born in another country, which is well above the Queensland figure.

English ancestry is the most common at 35.7%, followed by Australian at 27.7% and Irish at 15.2%. Scottish and Chinese ancestries also feature, at 11.8% and 5.9% respectively.
