A sharp rise in people reporting no faith defines the religious landscape of St Kilda East. Over half of residents now identify as non-religious, a shift that has seen this figure climb by 18 percentage points since 2011.

More than half of the community (51.7%) now report no religion, which is far above the national figure of 38.9%. While 23.4% identify as Christians, there is a significant Jewish presence at 11.4%, alongside smaller groups of Hindus (3%) and Buddhists (1.6%).
