Nearly half of all residents in postcode 2022 were born overseas, a proportion that is among the highest for similar areas. This international mix is reflected in a diverse range of ancestral roots, with English, Australian, and Irish being the most common.

English ancestry is the most frequent at 28.6%, followed by Australian at 19.3% and Irish at 12.9%. Other common roots include Scottish and Chinese, each making up about 7% of the population.

Australia and the largest overseas communities.
The proportion of overseas-born residents has risen to 46.0% since 2011, which is far above the national figure of 27.7%. While 47.7% were born in Australia, the next most common birthplaces are England, China, South Africa and New Zealand.
